AD HOC COMMITTEE OF THE DIRECTOR-GENERAL

Advanced Committee

Topic A: [REDACTED]

Topic B: [REDACTED]

Due to the nature of the topic being unrevealed, position papers will not be necessary for delegates in either of our Ad Hoc Committees.

Welcome to the Ad Hoc Committee of the Director-General! As for the topic? It’s a mystery…

This committee is typically better suited for delegates with prior Model UN experience due to its fast-paced, unusual nature, but all are welcome. Delegates will need to be adaptable, creative, and knowledgeable to ensure their success in this committee. Keep in mind: anything can happen in the Ad Hoc! Good luck, delegates!

COMMITTEE HINT:

Dear Delegates,

My name is Kenith Taukolo, and I am so excited to be your chair for the Ad Hoc Committee of the Director-General! I am currently a Sophomore at Harvard College concentrating in Envirnmental Science and Engineering with a focus on clean energy. I grew up in a suburb near Chicago (near the Six Flags if you’re in the North Shore!), but went to a boarding school in Aurora, Illinois.

Although I attended a math and science magnet school, I eagerly joined our school’s Model UN team, interested in global politics and the current state of international affairs. I became president of the team my senior year, and I continued to make many amazing memories at various MUN conferences.

At Harvard I am a part of ICMUN, the collegiate competitive travel team for Model UN, as a GA delegate on the circuit. Last year, I was an assistant director of a GA at HMUN, our high school conference and an assistant director of a specialized agency at HNMUN. This year, I’m excited to chair the GA Ad Hoc at HMUN and the European Space Agency at HNMUN!

As a GA Ad Hoc delegate myself, I have one piece of advice: be prepared for anything! You will no doubt settle into this committee throughout the weekend, and I am so excited to see everyone find their groove in this, fast-paced style of committee.

Please feel free to connect with me with any questions or concerns leading up to the committee. Let me know if I can help in any way as, Model UN, at the end of the day, is a collaborative effort, and only when we all work together does change really happen. I look forward to meeting all of you!

Signing off,

Kenith Taukolo
