Meet the Secretariat

We are excited to present the Secretariat of HMUN 2025. They are determined to make this iteration of HMUN the best one yet, and they cannot wait to meet you at the conference!


 
 

Calvin S. Osborne
Secretary-General

Calvin is a senior at Harvard College pursuing a joint concentration in Mathematics and Philosophy. He was born in Chicago, Illinois (but really, the suburbs about an hour north of Chicago!). Last year, Calvin served as the Under-Secretary-General for the Specialized Agencies, and he is excited to return to Harvard Model United Nations 2025 as your Secretary-General.

In addition to staffing at Harvard Model United Nations, Calvin is a director for the Ad Hoc Committee at Harvard National Model United Nations (our collegiate conference), as well as a competitor on Harvard’s Intercollegiate Model United Nations team (where he currently has the record for the most number of gavels!).

Feel free to ask Calvin about his twin brother, his math research, Dungeons & Dragons, or a review of his favorite board games during the conference.

Nicholas X. Yang
Director-General

Nicholas is a junior at Harvard College studying Computer Science and Neuroscience. He grew up in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Nicholas has been involved in Model UN since his freshman year of high school, and served as the Under-Secretary-General for Administration for HMUN 2024 and the Director of the World Health Organization for HNMUN 2025. Nicholas will also be staffing HMUN China 2024 as a member of the Secretariat. 

Outside of Model UN, Nicholas is one of the Business Managers at the Harvard Yearbook Publications and is also the Treasurer for the Harvard Undergraduate Science Olympiad. He also enjoys coding on hobby projects and swimming in his free time. Nicholas is excited to serve as your Director-General for HMUN 2025 and cannot wait to meet everyone!

Raihana Rahman
Under-Secretary-General for Administration

Raihana is a junior at Harvard in Eliot House studying mathematics and statistics, with a minor in computer science. She comes from the greatest city in the world (New York City)!

She is excited to serve this year as your Under-Secretary-General of Administration; last year, she served as an assistant director for Administration, and is excited to help make the conference an amazing experience for all.

Outside of HMUN, she is passionate about K-12 education, crocheting, and reading any book with a good cover and title.

Dhriti Vadlakonda
Under-Secretary-General for Business

Dhriti Vadlakonda is a rising junior in Currier House, originally from Clarksville, Maryland, concentrating in Engineering Sciences.

Dhriti started all things Model UN her freshman year of college and has found so much joy in organizing Harvard’s conferences! She’s previously served as Chair/Director at HMUN Boston, HNMUN Boston, and HMUN India, and cannot WAIT to be in an executive role and manage everything bizz-related at HMUN Boston this coming January!

Outside of MUN, Dhriti dances with Harvard Ghungroo, sings acapella with the Radcliffe Pitches, competes with Harvard’s Mock Trial team, and conducts patient outcomes research at MGH! In her free time, you can find Dhriti laughing the night away with her roomies, on the way to/back from her Holy Trinity (Black Sheep Bagel, Ten One Tea House, and Playa Bowls), out shopping and feasting in Boston, and binge-watching the latest drama series on Netflix.

Bautista M. Martinez
Under-Secretary-General for Finance

Bautista is a sophomore at Harvard College pursuing a double concentration in Computer Science and Government. He is from Montevideo, Uruguay (bonus points if you can locate it on a map).

Bautista has participated in Model UN since middle school, having acted as delegate, director, and Secretary-General in conferences both in Uruguay and abroad. 

Outside of MUN, Bautista is involved in the Harvard International Review, Tech for Social Good, and Harvard Votes Challenge. In his free time, he enjoys swimming, reading, and traveling, having been to over 15 countries–and excited to add new ones to the list!

João Victor Arruda
Under-Secretary-General for Operations

Victor Arruda is a senior at Harvard concentrating in Government and Art, Film, and Visual Studies. He was born and raised in Recife, Brazil, and has been involved with Model UN since high school.

At Harvard, Victor served as a Director for both HMUN and HNMUN in the last two iterations of the conferences. He was also a Director at other international conferences, having directed committees at HMUN India and HMUN China. Finally, he served in the secretariat for HNMUN-LA as Director-General of the conference.

Outside of MUN, Victor has served as the Co-President of the Harvard Brazilian Association and the Graphic Design Editor of the Harvard FIG. Magazine, among other activities. In his free time, he enjoys watching movies and taking photographs.

Maitri J. Shah
Under-Secretary-General for the General Assembly

Maitri Shah is a junior at Harvard College pursuing a double concentration in Computer Science and Statistics. She has lived in Calgary, Canada for her entire life, and strongly believes that it is the best city on Earth.

She has been involved with Model UN since high school, serving as the president of her high school MUN team, and now competes on the collegiate circuit with ICMUN. She has also been a part of Harvard Model United Nations (and Harvard National Model United Nations) for the past two years, having served as both assistant director and director in substantive organs.

Outside of MUN, Maitri is the president of Harvard Emerging Technology Group and also consults with Harvard Undergraduate Consulting for Business and the Environment. In her free time, she loves exploring Boston, hiking in the Rocky Mountains, and going on walks with her friends! She’s super excited about HMUN 2025 and cannot wait to meet you all!

Bobby S. Degeratu
Under-Secretary-General for the Economic and Social Council

Bobby is a rising senior studying history and government. Originally from Las Vegas, Bobby joined Model UN in 10th grade, and fell in love with it since, staffing numerous iterations of HMUN and HNMUN in Boston, China, and soon, India.

After an exciting stint at USG-ECOSOC/RB at HNMUN 2024, he is excited to continue overseeing the dynamic mid-sized committees at HMUN 2025. If there’s anything that brings him back year after year, it’s the inspirational delegates and the supportive MUN community at Harvard.

Aside from Model UN, Bobby enjoys learning about the law through organizations like the Undergraduate Law Review, volunteering with PBHA and the IOP, discovering new music, and writing. He can’t wait to meet you in 2025!

Addison R. Gaddy
Under-Secretary-General for the Regional and Specialized Bodies

Addison Gaddy is a rising sophomore at Harvard College studying Government and Romance Languages and Literature. She’s from the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia, where she was introduced to Model UN. Since then, Addison has spent –a little too –much of her time on Model UN events/activities, but she is incredibly grateful for the community and skills that MUN has brought her.

She currently serves as the director of training for the General Assembly for Harvard’s competitive Model UN team, and has participated in HNMUN 2024 and HNMUN-LA 2025. Addison is extremely excited to take Model UN experience and passion to HMUN and be the Under-Secretary-General for Regional and Specialized bodies!  

In addition to Model UN, Addison is involved in pre-professional clubs and groups within the Harvard community. When she finds downtime, she enjoys hanging out with friends, eating frozen yogurt, scrolling on TikTok, and listening to music (69,047 minutes worth in 2023). Addison is already counting down the days until HMUN and to meet everyone!

Alice Yang
Under-Secretary-General for the Crisis Committees

Alice Yang is a junior at Harvard College, pursuing a double concentration in Social Studies and Economics. She grew up in Edmonton, Canada, and began competing in MUN in high school. She was the captain of her high school MUN team and has continued competing in MUN on the college circuit.

She is now currently one of the head delegates of ICMUN, Harvard’s competitive MUN team. She has also been active in HMUN and HNMUN, both as director and assistant director in HMUN Specialized Agencies. She has had extensive experience competing and running crisis committees.

Outside of MUN, Alice manages one of the businesses within Harvard Student Agencies, a student-run business on the Harvard campus. She is also a dancer for the Asian American Dance Troupe and loves hiking, skiing, and watching Netflix dramas in her free time. Ask her about Canada, and she will explain why Canada is a great place to live despite the snow!
